Check an equipment renter's certificate of insurance
Rental companies usually ask for general liability naming them as lessor, plus cover for the equipment itself. See what a renter's certificate shows before the equipment goes out.

What this check compares
- General liability of $1M each occurrence and $2M aggregate
- An additional insured endorsement naming the lessor, on CG 20 28
- A note when the Other box shows no inland marine or rented equipment row
These are common starting points, not what your contract says. Your written contract decides what is actually required.
Questions
Does it check the rented equipment limit?
It notes whether an inland marine or rented equipment row appears. Compare its limit with your rental agreement yourself, since the right figure depends on the equipment.
Do I need an account?
No. You can check a certificate without signing up, up to three times a day. Saving the report or tracking the vendor asks for an email address.
What happens to my file?
Files are stored privately and deleted within about 24 hours. A report you choose to save is kept for 30 days, without the file.
Does this tell me the vendor is insured?
No. It compares what the documents show with a common set of requirements. It does not contact insurers, and your written contract decides what is actually required.
